I came home to mom and dad's last night ready for my next chemo treatment today. I got more and more stressed throughout the day yesterday, checking the weather and seeing that it was calling for several inches of snow and sleet. Driving home I had my freak out and cried mainly out of stress and frustration. I just wanted to make sure everything goes smoothly with this treatment and I could get it done before Christmas in enough time to feel good again before Christmas. At the same time, I have ABSOLUTELY no control over the weather... hence the frustration. So I packed up my stuff, enough to stay until after Christmas and headed home.
This morning we got up and since we hadn't heard from the BRCC we assumed my appointment was still scheduled. Dad drove us since the roads were treacherous. We were in a line of cars going 20-25mph all through Riner. After 9am we got a call from the BRCC saying "Get here ASAP and we will do the treatment, but we are closing early!" I was so relieved, we were well on our way. It was just a matter of getting there. Probably 5-10 minutes later they called back to say a nurse was stuck in traffic on Rt. 8 and they would reschedule me. We turned around and headed home. :( They called back with an appointment on Tuesday and Wednesday, right before Christmas. I was utterly devastated.
I'm trying to be more optimistic and think of this weekend as an opportunity to do some Christmas-y stuff that I haven't got done. But today I was in such a bad mood from not getting my treatment, I didn't get a single thing accomplished. Hopefully, I'll snap out of my funk so I can enjoy the next week or so. I'm just worried it will ruin our family get togethers for Christmas. Say a prayer that I can get the treatment next week and it goes well so we can still have a good Christmas.
