We got ready and I wore my new hat that I got yesterday at Target. I'm super-excited about this hat since it has ear flaps which will keep my ears warm this winter. Now, I've pretty much got over the hair loss thing, sure I miss it but I'm just looking forward to it coming back in a couple months. My main concern at the moment is keeping my ears and neck warm. Priorities people. Here's the hat:
I may look like a dork but it worked. I stayed nice and toasty and I loved it! :) I also opened another gift from my Aunt's gift basket!
They were "Hello Kitty" pajama pants!!! Yay! I love pajamas... really, I live in pajamas and sweats when I'm at home so this is awesome. :)
Then Mom and I headed to O'Charley's for lunch. I had a yummy salad and sandwich lunch combo. I just wanted to be able to get out when I felt good. I feel so isolated sometimes, staying in for a week or more when I feel bad then on my good weeks being at my place when there's really nothing around to do. It's nice to get out just for a bit.
I went and got my shot and IV. I asked the nurse about a couple of issues. I've had muscle twitches for weeks around my eyes and more recently in my feet at night. Short of having a nervous breakdown, I was hoping it was one of the chemo drugs effecting me. She suggesting taking a calcium supplement - my calcium could just be low! Wow. It is a result of one of the drugs (cytoxin or taxotere, I can't remember) but the calcium should help. I wish I would have asked weeks ago!
We stopped on the way home at Barnes and Noble so I could get a raspberry smoothie and look at books for a moment. Sigh... My happy place. :) Once we got home I had a great surprise visit from my friend Lynn. It was great to see her and catch up and bit. But by then, probably 2-3 hours after the shot I could already feel the bone pain setting in around my neck and arms. After she left I washed my face and it hurt. I went ahead and took a Loritab, hopefully before it gets too bad, I had started yawning and my ribs were hurting then as well.
This is making me hate the Neulasta shot. The bone pain is miserable. However. I REALLY hope that it works this time in boosting my white blood count. It didn't last time but it did the first time. So, I guess we will wait and see. And hope and pray that it works.
